Astronomy Images

The following images were taken as a part of my independent study in the Spring of 1998. Most of the successful images were taken the night of June 3, 1998.

The Moon

As with the many times I have been out images, I always am successful at taking picture of the moon. This picture was taken with Adam Maloof and Cindy Blaha on June 3, 1998. The moon was 9 days old and waxing gibbous.  Because of the lack of shadow it is difficult to identify many of the features on this picture. However, the large white crater on the left is likely the craters Stevinus & Snellius which would be near Mare Fecunditatis. Tycho is also making an appearance at the center-top-right.
