Services
Classroom and presentation technology
Whether you’re preparing a classroom lecture or a presentation in one of our fully equipped spaces, our goal is to provide reliable, and easy to use equipment for faculty, staff, students, or campus guests. Our presentation and learning spaces come equipped with computers, places to plug-in laptops, data projectors, DVD players, VCRs, and touch screen controllers that make operating these systems simple. We can even install equipment temporarily in rooms where equipment is not present. A list of campus rooms and presentation equipment can be found online.
Loaner equipment
We offer short-term loaner equipment to the Carleton community, including video cameras, tripods, microphones, lighting kits, audio recorders, data projectors, screens, VCRs, and DVD players. Need a laptop to go with your data projector? We can arrange for that, too. For more information on equipment, checkout policies, and reservation forms, visit us in Laird 14 or online.
Media lab
Have a video, audio or graphic design project you want to complete? We have a fully equipped media editing lab available in our Laird 14 Media Lab. Our staff is trained to assist you with your projects. You can reserve editing time and see a full list of our equipment and hours on our website.
Media coverage of events
With its rich calendar of events and performances, Carleton is a regional cultural center. PEPS records Carleton events for dissemination via CD, DVD, and the Web.
Special services
PEPS can produce special materials for classes or campus organizations, including instructional, informational, or promotional videos and DVDs. Such productions require extensive planning, so please give us as much lead time as possible. These services are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Audio/visual support for events
From a simple lecturn with a microphone to a complex staged event with multiple projectors, PEPS staff will help you to identify technologies to support or record your events. We will coordinate and deliver appropriate equipment and assistance. Make sure you've filled out a Set Up Request Form and sent it to the proper people.
Video dubbing and conversion services
Small-scale duplication of video and DVDs as well as international standards conversions (e.g., PAL to NTSC) and format conversions (e.g., mini-DVD to VHS) are offered on a walk-in basis. Please allow at least 48 hours for all jobs. Larger jobs may take longer. We cannot duplicate any material that contains an FBI anti-duplication warning.
We can also record television programs from Carleton's basic cable onto a DVD or iTunes compatible video files. This service is offered on a first come, first serve basis.
