Summer Break Mail

Students living in Northfield during summer break 2008:

  • Students who will be living in Northfield during summer break can continue to receive mail through their original spring term mail box if they have signed up for a summer break mail box at the Post Office service window.
  • Sign up using the Summer Break Mail Box Sign Up clipboard at the Post Office Service window, beginning May 15, 2008.
  • Each student must pick up their mail on a regular basis. If mail box fills up, magazines, newspapers and catalogs will be removed and recycled.
  • Near the end of summer break, all student mail boxes will be re-assigned for fall term. Mail will be transferred to your new fall term mail box at that time. New mail box lists will be posted in the lobby.

Students not living in Northfield during summer break 2008:

  • First class mail for out of town students will be forwarded to their U.S. address on file with the college until late August.
  • Forwarding to international addresses will end mid-August.
  • Magazines, catalogs, standard and non-profit mail cannot be forwarded and will be recycled throughout summer break.
  • Near the end of summer break, all student mail boxes will be re-assigned for fall term. Mail will be transferred to your new fall term mail box at that time. New mail box lists will be posted in the lobby.

What can be forwarded?

  • USPS First Class, Priority and Express mail can be forwarded to domestic and international addresses.
  • UPS packages can only be forwarded to a domestic street address (no P.O. Box addresses).

What cannot be forwarded?

  • FedEx, Airborne, DHL packages cannot be forwarded. They are returned to the sender.
  • Monthly CD & Book Club selection of the month letters (including the CD’s & books) cannot be forwarded, they are returned to the sender.
  • USPS Bulk and Non-Profit mail cannot be forwarded. This includes catalogs, magazines, newspapers, monthly journals, and newsletters. This mail is recycled.
