President Rob Oden Appears on NPR’s “On Point”

24 September 2007

Carleton President Robert A. Oden Jr. appeared on National Public Radio’s On Point on Tuesday, Sept. 18. The show, entitled “What Is College For,” discussed former Yale Law School dean Anthony Kronman’s new book, “Education’s End: Why Our Colleges and Universities Have Given Up on the Meaning of Life.”

Kronman says bad priorities, raging careerism, and political correctness have cut college kids off from learning the meaning of life. The audio is available on the On Point website. President Oden’s portion begins about 20 minutes into the hour-long segment.
