The primary goal of the Carleton Intramural Sports Program is to give Carleton students, faculty and staff the opportunity to enjoy a good recreational athletics program. Such a program can provide relief from daily academic pressure, further the social and athletic components of a Carleton student's education and enhance the professional lives of faculty and staff.
The program is designed to encourage floor participation; athletic activities give living-unit residents the opportunity to interact in a fun, relaxing, healthy and cooperative environment. Similarly, faculty and staff participation is encouraged. The intramural program is a good opportunity for all members of the college community to interact in an extra-curricular environment.
Sports emphasizes winning and excellence but a true Intramural Champion understands the importance of teamwork, respect and sportsmanship. Regardless of whether you're a beginner or a veteran, you can exemplify the virtues of a true IM Champ by having fun and giving everyone an opportunity at a fulfilling experience.
WHO CAN PLAY
Participation is open to all students, faculty, and staff.
HOW TO SIGN UP
For team sport activities, try forming a team from your dorm floor, department, or friends.
* Registration is done via the web: www.carleton.edu/curricular/PEAR/IM (select the IM sports button). If you run into problems, contact Mikki Showers (IM Director) mshowers@carleton.edu
* Deadlines for each activity are established at the captains’ meeting.
* To register your team, a representative must attend the captains’ meeting. A team roster must include the team name, two captains, e-mail addresses and phone numbers, the division of play, and a complete list of players. Individuals who do not have a team and wish to participate should come to the captains’ meeting.
