Green Bikes

During the 2007-2008 school year Students for Protecting the Environment (SOPE) began Carleton's Green Bike Program with the ACT Center. This program encourages students, faculty, and staff to use zero-emissions means of transportation by allowing them to check out bicycles, locks, and keys, from Campus Activities. Students, faculty, and staff are permitted to ride the bicycles off campus and are expected to return them and related equipment to Campus Activities immediately after returning to campus. You can reserve the bikes in advance through Campus Activities.

At present, Carleton owns five Green Bikes and is looking to expand the program. Each bike is equipped with a milk crate to make riding downtown for groceries and other errands more convenient. During winter months only two Green Bikes are available for use.

Campus Activities (Sayles 160) is open 9am-5pm Monday through Saturday, 11am-5pm on Sundays, and from 5:30pm-11:30pm all evenings. Come by Campus Activities with your OneCard during any of its open hours to sign out a Green Bike.
