Departmental Purpose
The Department of Security Services is responsible for maintaining security and providing emergency response at Carleton College. Security Services personnel provide patrol protection of the campus seven days a week, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, by a staff comprised of professional security personnel and student officers. They are responsible for a full range of public safety services including crime prevention, crime and incident reports, investigations, medical emergencies, fire emergencies, and responding to all other incidents requiring emergency assistance.
Emergencies
In case of emergency, where ambulance, police or fire personnel are required, call 911 immediately! (From campus, dial 9-911, and wait 10-15 seconds for the call to go through.) In other cases where assistance is needed, call Security Services at extension 4444, or (507) 222-4444. Free campus telephones are located in the public areas of most buildings, and outdoor emergency telephones are provided at several locations across campus.
