May

  • Thursday, May 8: Attend the Senior Showcase from 12-5 p.m. in Severance Great Hall. This is a one-stop-shop opportunity for you to take care of many of your graduation needs. Representatives from several campus offices will be there with information about student loan repayment, address change and mail forwarding guidelines, career services, photos for the yearbook, senior week and commencement schedules, and much more. Vendors will have samples of announcements, class rings, and diploma frames to view and details for ordering. Students will be measured for their caps and gowns. There will also be refreshments and prizes.
  • No later than May 16: If you need to stay in College-owned housing the evening of Saturday, June 14, please complete the Senior Saturday Evening Housing Request form no later than Friday, May 16. (We are unable to provide housing requested after that date, as all remaining rooms will be assigned to Commencement guests.) The Office of Residential Life will send a confirmation to anyone reserving a room for Saturday evening. With a reservation, you will be assigned to a room in Goodhue or Watson. Goodhue and Watson will close at noon on Sunday, June 15. Residents of Goodhue and Watson wishing to remain in campus housing Saturday evening must submit forms to stay.
  • Open a Recommendation File with the Career Center. See Susan Bovbjerg about the waivers for establishing open or closed references. Setting up a file before you leave campus is easier than trying to contact professors after you have left, especially because many forms require your signature.
  • Make sure you have no financial obligations to the College prior to Commencement.
  • No later than May 25: Loan exit counseling must be completed before graduation. Do you have a Federal Perkins, Henry Strong and/or a Carleton College loan? If so, you should receive an e-mail with a link for your online loan exit counseling requirement. If you didn't receive instructions or if you have questions, please contact Sandy Pieri at 4165 or e-mail spieri@acs.carleton.edu.

June

  • June 9: Senior Week begins. Join your classmates in the Senior Week activities.

  • June 10-11: Pick up your graduation cap and gown in Great Space on Tuesday or Wednesday, June 10-11, between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
    • Before you pick up your cap and gown, be sure to complete the Online Senior Survey. On the last page of the survey there is a survey receipt that you will need to print and bring along with your student I.D. card when you pick up your cap and gown. For your efforts in assisting us with this survey, you will be entered in a drawing for cash prizes and the winners will be announced at Commencement Rehearsal on Friday, June 8.
  • June 13: Attend Commencement Rehearsal at 9:50 a.m.
  • June 13: Pick up guest room keys in Sayles Hill between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.

  • June 14: All seniors are expected to vacate their housing at 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 14 (unless a Saturday Evening Housing Request was submitted and confirmed by the Office of Residential Life).
  • Room Checkout: Clean your room and return it to its original condition. Check closets, drawers and behind doors to make certain you have left nothing behind. If you choose to use the Traditional Check Out option, arrange a meeting time with your RA/HM to checkout. If you choose the Express Check Out option, simply put your keys in the envelope provided and drop it in the Express Check Out box before departing. Remember that you cannot contest charges if you opt for the Express Check Out.
  • By June 30: Support our Class Gift with a contribution of $20.08. What is the Senior Gift, and why should you participate? Find out here.
