We encourage you to read all documents carefully and to know the terms of any loan before signing a promissory note. First-Time Stafford Borrower Information

If you have not borrowed a Federal Stafford Loan in the past or you are a current student who needs to choose a new lender because your previous loan was borrowed through College Board, TCF, SLX, US BANK, or CLC, click here to learn more about Stafford Loans, choose a lender, complete loan entrance counseling if necessary and apply for your loan.

If you are a returning Carleton student who has borrowed in the past and DO NOT NEED TO CHOOSE A NEW LENDER, you DO NOT need to complete this online process. Go here for more information.
