A Day in the Robotic Life

Few of us are aware that with the class of 2011, Carleton College enrolled its first robot student ever.  Randall keeps a pretty low profile on campus, but Robert Martin ’11 did manage to contact him last winter.  He got permission to make a documentary of this unusual student's life.

A Day in the Robotic Life

Okay, so Randall is actually a Halloween costume.  Robert devoted several hours to making the costume for a costume contest last year, but after Halloween was over, he didn’t have anything else to do with it.  In a bit of Carleton-spirited recycling, Robert used the costume to make the photo essay you see before you.

Keep an eye on this guy.  He may just be a squid this year.
