2008 GHG Emissions Inventory posted

July 15, 2009 at 3:26 pm
By Elissa Brown

Last year's greenhouse gas emissions have been calculated and the information is now available. Check it out and compare it to 2007's data and even to other schools!

After signing the President's Climate Commitment (PCC) in the Spring of 2007, Carleton is responsible for conducting an inventory every other year and submitting it to the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) so it can be viewed by the public.

Developing an understanding of our emissions is the first step towards carbon neutrality. After establishing a baseline and seeing where our emissions come from, we can come up with a plan to to reduce our outputs and then track our progress.

Carleton will be submitting its Climate Action Plan to the PCC by this fall. Check back for details to come!
