Purchasing
The "Purchasing" Initiative
The "Purchasing Initiative" is the process of committing Carleton to incorporating "Green" practices into the infrastructural investments and projects throughout campus.
What's Happening Now
Carleton Facilities is currently in the process of formulating, in communication with the EAC, a long-term plan to outline the school’s approach to facilities management over the next 20 or so years. This plan is expected to be completed by October 2007.
Goals
Short Term:Our short-term goal for this area, is to incorporate the LEED standardization system into this master plan, so that by its completion in October, the school has outlined an approach for executing our long-term plan for this area: committing to the pursuit of LEED standards in an effort to achieve a “silver” rating.
Long Term
As Carleton seeks to undergo extensive campus renovations and to undertake numerous new building initiatives, it is the long term goal of the "Purchasing Initiative" to fully incorporate "Green" standards and ideology into these long term processes.
