Student Organizations
- Adopt-a-Highway ~ An ACT program where volunteers spend part of a weekend afternoon cleaning up a two-mile stretch of Highway 35.
- Adopt-a-River ~ An ACT program where volunteers spend part of a weekend afternoon cleaning up Northfield’s Cannon River.
- Afrisa ~ The objective of the Carleton African Student Association is to increase awareness about Africa and to broaden the African community at Carleton. Membership is open to the entire Carleton community.
- Amnesty International ~ A group that works to inform the campus of human rights issues and violations worldwide and provide the tools for direct action. Carleton's chapter writes urgent action appeals to heads of states, tables in Sayles around current issues, and organizes a variety of other programs including speakers, films, and write-a-thons.
- American Native Peoples Organization (ANPO) ~ A group that provides support, community, and unification for Native American students. It serves to enrich the knowledge of members as well as the Carleton community through cultural activities.
- Asian American Students In America (ASIA) ~ An organization formed to meet the needs of the Asian and Asian American community at Carleton as well as other members of the Carleton Community with an interest in Asian culture and/or issues that Asian and Asian American students face. ASIA provides a forum for members to fulfill their cultural, social, educational, and political needs.
- Arbor ~ An ACT program devoted to learning about the environment while aiding in the restoration and cleanup of the Carleton Cowling Arboretum and McKnight Prairie.
- BARKADA ~ Filipino Student Association.
- Black Students Alliance (BSA) ~ A group that provides a support base for students of African descent, sponsor Black cultural events, and promote awareness of issues in and about the Black community to enrich the lives of all at Carleton.
- CANOE (Carleton Association of Nature and Outdoor Enthusiasts) ~ A student organization that runs a variety of student led trips and activities, as well as lending outdoor equipment.

- Carleton's Interdisciplinary Science and Math Initiative (CISMI)
- Carleton In and Out (CIAO) ~ A student organization that meets bi-weekly as a discussion group for the LGBT community and those who are questioning their sexual identity. There are no membership requirements. CIAO is a safe, confidential space and open social atmosphere for people both in and out of the closet.
- Carleton Responsible Investment Committee (CRIC) ~ A committee of students, faculty and staff that advises the Investment Council of the Board of Trustees on ethical and social issues that arise in the management of the college endowment. F
- Coalition of Hmong Students (CHS) ~ An organization that promotes and educates the Hmong culture and traditions to Carleton College and the Northfield community.
- Coming out Support and Discussion Group ~ This group is facilitated by two Center Associates who help students address issues of sexuality and sexual orientation at Carleton. This is for students who are first questioning their own sexuality, or for those who would like support when they come out to different people or communities. C
- Club Caribe’ ~ A student organization that fosters a comprehensive awareness of the Caribbean at Carleton College. Club Caribe' was created out of a need on campus to diversify multicultural programming thus introducing an area of the world which contains populations of people who make up important components of African, Latino, and European histories and diasporas.
- Cowling Arboretum ~ Carleton's 800-acre arboretum is a significant local ecological resource for course work and personal exploration.
- Coalition of Women of Color (COWOC) ~ An organization that creates an environment for women on the Carleton campus that is supportive, fun, and serves as a resource. As a group, COWOC acts upon the cultural, economic, and political issues that affect women of color in our society.
- Dedicated to the Exploration of South-Asian Interests (DESI) ~ DESI seeks to nurture a South Asian society on campus. In addition to regular community activities such as a radio show, movie screenings and celebrations of festivals, we explore comtemporary political, cultural, and social issues of South Asia. C
- Green Network ~ An affiliation of organizations and individuals dedicated to environmental advocacy. Subscribe to the Green Network list serve to receive weekly schedules of environmental events, opportunities, and other announcements.
- Farm Club ~ A student organization affiliated with Farmhouse, Farm Club runs a community organic garden and promotes sustainable agriculture.
- Farm House ~ A campus interest house dedicated to sustainable living. All welcome to dinners Mon-Thurs 6:30pm.
- Green House ~ A campus interest house dedicated to environmental activism and green living, as well as a larger green community. All welcome to dinners Mon-Thurs 6:00pm.
- Kids for Conservation ~ A volunteer student organization teaching environmental education in the Northfield elementary schools.
- Lighten Up ~ At the end of every school year Carleton students donate used clothing, books, shoes and appliances to the annual Lighten Up Garage Sale. This sale benefits community non-profits along with recycling tons of clothing and goods which would otherwise be thrown away.
- Latino American Students Organization (LASO) ~ A group dedicated to providing a supportive and comfortable environment for Latina/o students at Carleton. The major goal of LASO is the education of Latina/o students and the Carleton community on the history, culture, and current issues/events of Latina/o communities. LASO events and membership are always open to the entire Carleton community.
- Maltby Nature Preserve ~ A 90-acre wildlife sanctuary and environmental education facility. Volunteers through ACT help with environmental restoration and programming work. Visit Maltby Nature Preserve's website
- Men of Color (MOC) ~ a group that serves as a support network and resource to educate and empower male students of color at Carleton. MOC also encourages campus-wide meaningful and thoughtful discussions as well as actions on multicultural and gender issues pertaining to men of color in the Carleton community. C
- MPIRG (Minnesota Public Interest Research Group) ~ A state-wide non-profit activism group with local chapters on campuses throughout the state. Campus chapters are composed of a student group and a state board organizing director.
- NEO Electronics Organization ~ Neo refurbishes a limited number of used computers and then resells them, for a very small price, to Carleton students who otherwise could not afford them. Most of the computers they repair are ones that the college no longer has a use for and would otherwise discard.
- Pangea ~ a support group for international students, helping them discover and adapt to life in the US. We increase awareness of international issues and foreign cultures on campus, facilitate communication, and build cultural bridges between international and American students.
- Phase 2 ~ A club for the multiracial students on campus who desire a place where they can come to grips with all aspects of their identity or heritage. It is open to all students on campus with the hope that stronger bridges between all the different cultures on campus can be built.
