Resources for Students

This page includes resources that are available on this website, on campus, and on the web. All are trusted, reliable sources of information that the SWAs themselves use!

On-Campus Resources:

  • Ask A SWA Questions: In every SWA Stall across campus, SWAs post a blank sheet of paper with the following instructions: "Ask us any wellness-related question." The questions are varied and often off-the-wall, but nonetheless the SWAs work hard to research appropriate answers. We've gathered a collection of often-asked questions together for the benefit of students. Feel free to submit a new question if you can't find the information you're looking for!
  • SWAs: The SWAs themselves are an excellent resource for Carleton students. The linked webpage contains contact information for all of the SWAs.
  • SWA Stall/SWA Bulletin Board: On every floor of every dorm that houses first year students, SWAs designate two bathroom stalls to be SWA Stalls. Usually there is one male and one female SWA Stall available on every floor; if, however, the bathrooms on the floor are co-ed, the Stalls are also not gender-specific. Within these SWA stalls is a wealth of information about: SHAC, SWAs, upcoming events (e.g. flu shots, speakers visiting campus), how to purchase condoms on campus from AHA, after-hours medical attention, who to contact in an emergency, and more! The SWAs are working bring the same information to upperclassmen through passive programming and campus-wide events.
  • Student Health and Counseling (SHAC) Staff: SHAC staff members are primary resources for all questions that the SWAs have, and are an excellent resource for students. You can make an appointment with any of the medical or mental health professionals by calling SHAC at x4080. Visit SHAC's website for more information.
