Liz Lerman founded the Liz Lerman Dance Exchange in 1976 and has since choreographed and performed various dances that emphasize collaboration between dancers, communities, and experts from diverse disciplines. Lerman has choreographed dances based on baseball, Russian history, and the human genome, to name only a few. Lerman received a MacArthur “Genius Grant” Fellowship in 2002 and has been commissioned by the Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center, and the Harvard Law School, among others.
