Individual Counseling Information

Short term individual counseling is offered through The Wellness Center free of charge to all Carleton students. Unlimited group counseling is also available. The Wellness Center is also a referral resource for students desiring services from off-campus providers. This option allows students to access counseling with specialists who treat a specific concern or to connect with providers whom they can see for longer-term therapy.

Counseling is offered to help students address most concerns, large or small, including depression, anxiety, eating disorders, chemical use, assault or abuse, sexual identity, relationship conflicts, grief, academic stress, and family issues.

Our mental health staff includes: Three doctoral level psychologists, three practicum counselors (here for a one-year training program), a chemical dependency assessor, as well as a consulting psychiatrist for medication management and a consulting dietician for nutritional therapy. The Wellness Center is open for appointments Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm.

All counseling services are confidential. Information regarding a student's counseling cannot be released, except as dictated by law, without the written consent of the student. No record of the student's visit is placed on a transcript or academic record.
