Student Wellness Advisors (SWAs)

The Student Wellness Advisors are a group of 15 students who are part of The Wellness Center team. Through workshops and advising, SWAs assist in educating and supporting members of the Carleton community in making healthy choices regarding psychological and physical health issues. The SWAs have a wide variety of topics they are trained to talk about including sexual health, sexual harassment and assault, alcohol and drug use, stress management, eating disorders, relaxation, and other topics.

Some of the workshops they have done in the Residence Halls are:

Get Drunk with Your SWAs : This is a simulation of a Carleton party with a rootbeer keg and a lot of fun. A brief discussion about alcohol follows the party.

Let’s Talk about Sex: Learn about the importance of safer sex/abstinence thorough learning about STIs, birth control and relationships.

Relax and Enjoy: This SWA workshop includes methods of relaxation, ways to make stress relieving tools and the importance of taking time for yourself.
