Sara Nobbs, VISTA Leader for the Saint Paul Public Schools Foundation (AmeriCorps VISTA) will be on-campus to promote their 15 openings.  Visit with her by stopping by the information session from 12-1 in Leighton 330!

The Saint Paul Public Schools Foundation currently has 15 openings (listed below) for AmeriCorps VISTA members. VISTAs are national service members committed to bringing individuals and communities out of poverty by building capacity and doing indirect service at nonprofit organizations.

As a VISTA, you will:

  1. Work full-time (40 hours/week) at the Foundation or one of its partner organizations.
  2. Earn a living allowance of approximately $850/month.
  3. Have the option to receive either an education award (approximately $5,550) or a cash stipend (approximately $1500) upon completion of your year of service.
  4. Receive basic health benefits, access to affordable life insurance, and child care (if eligible).
  5. Have access to professional development opportunities.
  6. Attend monthly training days with your fellow VISTA members.
  7. Be reimbursed for travel while on the job (approximately 55 cents/mile).
  8. Receive a total of 20 paid days off (10 sick days + 10 personal days), in addition to Foundation holidays.
  9. Benefit from mentoring by Foundation and partner staff, including job recommendations and networking support.

For a complete description of the benefits and responsibilities of being a VISTA, please consult the VISTA member handbook. To become a VISTA, you must be 18 or older and have a four-year college degree.
