Fraudulent Job Postings
Unfortunately, not every job posting is legitimate. Some internship and job offers are instead a method to get personal information for use in identity theft and or money from you. It is vitally important that you know how to distinguish legitimate internship and job postings from scams.

Student’s Obligations in the Job & Internship Search

  • Provide truthful and accurate information
  • Adhere to schedules
  • Accept an offer of employment in good faith
  • Notify employers on a timely basis of an acceptance or non-acceptance
  • Notify employers on a timely basis when withdrawing from the recruiting process after accepting an offer of employment
  • Interview only with employers for whom you are interested in working and whose qualifications requirements you meet
  • Request reimbursement only for reasonable and legitimate expenses incurred in the recruitment process
