ACT One-Time Events
Sometimes a community member or non-profit agency contacts the ACT Center to request volunteers for an event. These requests have varied from needing one volunteer to distribute blue ribbons for Child Abuse Prevention Month, to needing over 150 volunteers to assist with tornado relief efforts. These requests are advertised in the ACT Weekly Bulletin. Groups or individuals can sign up to participate in these one-time projects.
Reach Out with a Group
Service projects can enhance a group's unity and be lots of fun. There are a variety of opportunities in the community for groups to serve. You can plan a one-time group project with your residence hall floor, department, house, sports team, friends, co-curricular organization, etc.
ACT will assist with organization, funding, transportation and other details. Some possible locations include: Clothes Closet, Laura Baker Services Association, Northfield Hospital, Northfield Retirement Center, and Three Links Care Center, as well as sites in the Cities.
Please contact the ACT staff in advance to organize a project. The staff is eager to help you find the contacts and the resources you need to plan and implement service projects that meet community needs.
Volunteers are always needed to help plan and participate in special one-time events sponsored by the ACT Center or ACT programs. New ideas and traditions are encouraged!
