For Faculty and Staff
The CCCE and Your Courses
Many courses at Carleton include a service-learning or experiential learning component, and many students have done research in Northfield or nearby (or faraway!) communities. The website above has information on Academic Civic Engagement (ACE), examples of past and current courses, and ways to get involved.
The CCCE and Your Students
Volunteering with the CCCE can provide great experience for students, and relevant to coursework or their major. See examples of community research comps projects and volunteer programs that relate to academic work at our Academics page.
The Center for Community and Civic Engagement has an extensive collection of books about service, Academi Civic Engagement, and the ethics of "town-gown relations". Stop by the CCCE (Sayles 150) and take a look yourself!
Do you know of a community need that's not being met? Do you know of an event that requires volunteers? Let us know! Call the Center for Community and Civic Engagement at x7020
