Citation Styles

A variety of citation styles exist in the academic disciplines. Because African and African American Studies is an interdisciplinary endeavor, over the course of your Carleton career you will probably be asked to use different citation styles for papers written in different courses. For your comps paper, it is important to choose *one* citation style and to be consistent both for in-text citations and for your References Cited (bibliography) section. It is best to choose the citation style of your primary disciplinary field.
