A podcast of the show is available here. A transcript of the interview will be published by Mondomix, an Italian online music magazine.

June 16, 2011 at 8:00 amThursday-Saturday, November 17-19: 2011 African Studies Association Annual Meeting Preliminary Program, 50 Years of African Liberation, now posted at: www.africanstudies.org, Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, Washington, D.C. Site includes Annual Meeting schedule of major events. Annual Meeting will end after Dance Party, Saturday, November 19. No Sunday sessions.

Saturday, November 19. The Abiola Lecture (a luncheon plenary sponsored by Women's Caucus) to be presented by Dr. Sylvia Tamale, Dean of Law School, Makerere University. Tickets available soon, $20.00. Dr. Tamale will also be opening speaker for morning Teacher’s Workshop.

New Director for African/African American Studies Program
June 15, 2011 at 8:27 amWe are delighted to announced that Professor Pamela Feldman-Savelsberg has accepted the appointment of new Director of the Program in African and African-American Studies, effective July 1, 2011. Pamela will direct the Program for the next two years. Her excellent teaching, scholarship, current research project in West African gender issues in transnational context, recent chairship of SOAN, national leadership in the field, vision, and amiability make Pamela supremely qualified to move us through the next step in the process of repositioning the Program as a key component of a first-class liberal arts education at Carleton.
