William M. "Willy" Stern will be teaching a two-week course "Investigative Tips for the Incurably and Globally Curious" for the American Studies program February 6-18, 2013.

February 6, 2013 at 4:05 pm

This course will be taught MWF 1:50-3:00pm starting with class on Wednesday, February 6 and ending Monday, February 18, 2013. Another section of this course has been added, immediately following the first section. See ENROLL for more information.

Veteran journalist Willy Stern has roamed the world in search of news--from the slums of Soweto in South Africa to the halls of power in Washington, D.C., from the boardrooms of Tokyo to the battlefields of Iraq, from the secret prisons of Afghanistan to the backwoods of Mali; from complex pathways of Jerusalem to the wilds of remote Alaska, and many points in between. A former staff writer at Forbes and Business Week, Professor Stern is the recipient of many national journalism awards and honors. His plainspoken style has engaged audiences around the world. In addition to serving on Vanderbilt's adjunct law faculty, he has taught at many schools around the country, including Williams College, Colorado College and Carleton College. Stern’s writing has appeared in publications like The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The International Herald Tribune, The Chicago Tribune and The New Republic.
