Mellon Post-doctoral Fellow in Art History, presented in March a paper entitled "Pilgrims and Patrons: Ziyarat under the Samanids at Bavandids" at the British Museum at the conference "People of the Prophet's House: Art, Architecture and Shi'ism in the Islamic World." She also recently presented a paper entitled "From Religious Complex to Uzbek National Symbol: The Gur-i Amir in Samarqand" at the Society of Architectural Historians conference in Pasadena.

Hulings Hall Atrium Exhibition
April 3, 2009Catch the Hulings Hall Atrium surprise exhibition celebrating Fred Hagstrom’s 25 years at Carleton! Eight artists—Carleton graduates spanning classes from 1991 to 2002—offer inventive fine art prints for our enjoyment spring term 2009. Jennifer Yorke ’95, Mildred Beltre ’91, Melanie Fischer ’91, Jesse Houlding ’92, Ethan Murrow ’98, Heather O’Hara ’01, Watie White ’93, and Melinda Yale ’02, all after leaving Carleton pursued further education in the fine arts, and have contributed to the greater visual conversation that is the “art world” through exhibitions, artist residencies, and more. Each artist has agreed to donate one work from the exhibition to the Carleton College Art Collection in honor of their college printmaking teacher, Fred Hagstrom.
