February 4, 2009Assistant Professor of Art, currently has ceramic sculptures in three invitational exhibitions including Circa Gallery in Minneapolis, Pewabic Pottery in Detroit, and at Clark College in Vancouver, WA. She delivered a visiting artist talk at Clark College in conjunction with the opening of the exhibition titled "Beasts and Botanicals." Her work at Circa was noted as one of the best exhibitions of 2008 in a recent Star Tribune article.

January 19, 2009The show is comprised of paintings of unlikely topiary structures isolated like specimens on a ground of Baltic birch plywood. The images, representations of natural forms which have been manipulated to resemble representations of culture, come out of a desire to embody some internal contradictions of our ambivalent stance toward nature.

December 15, 2008Mellon Post-doctoral Fellow in Art and Art History, presented a paper entitled "Holding the Fort: The Central Asian Ribat as Defensive Military Architecture" on November 14 at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
