September 30, 2008Papermaking instructor Jeff Rathermel's work in paper will be displayed until mid-October in Boliou Gallery. His work includes prints, artists' books and sculptural paper.
Scholars Program - Creative Arts
September 17, 2008Information regarding a new Creative Arts Scholars Program. Fifteen students to travel to NYC over winter break 2008. The “Scholars” model comprises a “taste of industry” tour where small groups of students survey work in different aspects of a field or discipline, which gives them a chance to showcase their interests and potential, and network with hosts and alumni.

Class of 2008 opens Senior Show
May 16, 2008Sixteen senior Studio Art majors opened their final art exhibition May 16 with a gala reception in Boliou Hall and the Art Gallery. Their work includes various mediums. Each students' artist statement is listed on the Senior Show website.
Tim Lloyd exhibit at The Smithsonian Craft Show
May 1, 2008Tim Lloyd, Class of 1941 Professor of Art and the Liberal Arts, Emeritus, exhibited his work at the Smithsonian Craft Show in Washington recently. One of Tim’s silver teakettles, “Kitano Fantasy” was selected for the permanent collection of the Smithsonian’s Renrick Gallery. The teapot was recently published in 500 Metal Vessels, Contemporary Explorations of Containment, published by Lark Books.
"Printmaker's Walk through the Exhibition"

Art History Junior chosen for Cloisters internship
April 1, 2008Mya Dosch '09 has been selected for an internship at the Cloisters in New York this coming summer. Mya is an Art History major from Shell Lake, Wisconsin.
Work accepted to two shows
March 12, 2008Juliane Shibata, '01 and visiting professor of ceramics, has had three pieces accepted into Small Works Show, Northville Art House, Northville, MI and one piece into the Contemporary Clay Biennial at the Western Colorado Center for the Arts in Grand Junction, CO.
CAA presentation by Alison
March 3, 2008Alison co-chaired a session,"Gender and the Market in Netherlandish Art," at the annual College Art Association meetings in February in Dallas.
