Fred Hagstrom named Rae Schupak Nathan Professor of Art
June 10, 2009Fred has been named as the Rae Schupack Nathan Professor of Art effective immediately. Mary Easter has held this title during her tenure. Upon the occasion of her retirement, Fred has been named to fill this professorship.

May 8, 2009Studio art associate professor David Lefkowitz's sons Emmett (8) and Carter(5) along with their dad will show art work at The Father/Son Exhibit at the Minnetonka Center for the Arts in early summer. Four sets of fathers and sons will have work featured in the exhibition beginning June 18.

Melanie Michaildis presented at British Museum

Mellon Post-doctoral Fellow in Art History, presented in March a paper entitled "Pilgrims and Patrons: Ziyarat under the Samanids at Bavandids" at the British Museum at the conference "People of the Prophet's House: Art, Architecture and Shi'ism in the Islamic World." She also recently presented a paper entitled "From Religious Complex to Uzbek National Symbol: The Gur-i Amir in Samarqand" at the Society of Architectural Historians conference in Pasadena.
