Ceramic artist Beth Lo steps into the studio at Carleton
October 9, 2009Beth Lo, a ceramic artist and professor of art, came to Carleton on Monday, Oct 5, to share her work with the Carleton community. In the two and a half hours that Lo spent with the class, she demonstrated throwing porcelain vessels, trimming, carving, and decorating with slip. As she worked, she talked about her experience with clay and her connection with the craft.
Fred's work part of the College Art Gallery Collaborative Fall Art Tour
September 8, 2009Fred Hagstrom's work will be part of the College Art Gallery Collaborative Fall Art Tour 2009. The opening reception is set for Saturday, Oct. 3 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Concordia Gallery, 1301 Marshall Ave in St. Paul. The show will be on display until Nov. 6.

Plumb Bobs and Other Curiosities: Recent Workl
August 11, 2009Kelly Connole will present "Plumb Bobs and Other Curiosities: Recent Works" as part of "In Between" which will open Sept 18, 2009 in the Gallery. An artist's talk will precede the opening reception. The talk will be held in Boliou 104 at 7:30 p.m. with the reception to follow at 8:30 in the gallery. Beth Lo, Professor of Art at the University of Montana will also have work in the show. She will present an artist's talk on October 5 at 7:30 in Boliou 104.

Fred Hagstrom named Rae Schupak Nathan Professor of Art
June 10, 2009Fred has been named as the Rae Schupack Nathan Professor of Art effective immediately. Mary Easter has held this title during her tenure. Upon the occasion of her retirement, Fred has been named to fill this professorship.

May 8, 2009Studio art associate professor David Lefkowitz's sons Emmett (8) and Carter(5) along with their dad will show art work at The Father/Son Exhibit at the Minnetonka Center for the Arts in early summer. Four sets of fathers and sons will have work featured in the exhibition beginning June 18.
