2012 Lindesmith Lecture, Renowned Hindi Writer & Artist Uday Prakash

Mr. Prakash will deliver the 2012 Lindesmith Lecture and will speak on the role of the writer & on globalization in the third world.

The Carleton South Asian Studies Program is pleased to have Mr. Prakash deliver the 2012 Lindesmith Lecture.  Mr. Prakash, who writes in Hindi, is one of the most significant writers of his generation.  He has been granted the distinguished Sahitya Akademi award, among numerous others.  For more information contact Arnab Chakladar, achaklad@carleton.edu

Friday, May 11th:  7-10pm  Weitz Center #236, Larson Meeting Room:  Screening of the film Mohandas

Friday, May 18th:  4-5pm  Weitz Center #216, 2nd Floor Lounge:  Informal discussion of Mr. Prakash's short stories in English translation. Limited to 20 people.

Wed., May 23rd:  4:30 - 6pm  Gould Library Athenaeum Dialogos session on Translation and Global Knowledge.  Mr. Prakash will participate on panel.
