Submitting Written Comps
Instructions for submitting a written synopsis and bibliography:
The written portion of your comps must be submitted on Moodle by 4:00 PM on the last day of class of your first comps term.
Note that late submissions are not possible except in extreme cases, such as a medical or family emergency.
Two Moodle submissions are required by the deadline.
First you should upload a complete and print-ready version of your synopsis and bibliography in PDF format. Submissions in Word or
any other format are not acceptable. All parts of the written comps, including figures and bibliography, should be submitted in one complete file.
Second, you should submit a PDF file that lists the following:
- Your name, your advisor, and your question number.
- The total character count for the body of your synopsis (consult Form & Style information for details of what to count).
- The title of your paper.
- Title of your upcoming talk, if different from the paper.
- Whether your talk will be open to the public or closed (faculty committee only).
