The Chemistry Department is hosting Prof. Cathy Murphy on Monday-Tuesday April 23-24. Cathy is a very prominent chemist who synthesizes and does research on the properties of gold nanorods for many applications relevant to biology, health, and the environment. She was named #32 on the Science Watch List of Top 100 Chemists for the Decade 2000-2010. Her highly interdisciplinary work sits at the intersection of inorganic chemistry, biophysical chemistry, nanotechnology, biology, health and disease, and the environment.
