Due to their sessile lifestyle plants have to permanently defend
themselves against invading pathogens. In order to do this they employ
preformed barriers like the plant cell wall and inducible defenses like
the production of antimicrobial compounds. I will give an overview of
the different strategies plants use to limit pathogen growth. Further I
will share information on my own research project that deals with cell
wall components that are targets of pathogen attack.
