What is School Psychology?

February 23, 2012 at 7:30 pm

What exactly is the field of school psychology? Are you interested in helping kids succeed? Attend a talk by Carleton graduate Amy Luckner to find out what school psychologists do, how they are trained, what steps to take in pursuit of a career in the field, and discuss its relation to clinical psychology, counseling psychology, and social work.

Amy Luckner received a Ph.D. from a joint program in child development and school psychology at the University of Minnesota. After working as a school psychologist for two years in Illinois, she completed a two-year post-doctoral research fellowship at the University of Virginia and is currently an Assistant Professor in the School Psychology Program at Northern Illinois University.
