CAD Seminar - Winter 2010
A Computer Aided Design, 3D solid modeling, seminar will be offered during Winter Term, 2010. The seminar will get you started using 3D solid modeling software and will cover everything you need to know to make models of simple parts and assemblies and make drawings of those models. All participants will be able to install AutoCAD Inventor on their own computer (Windows only). An open lab computer will also be available. The group will meet for one one-hour session per week for the first eight weeks of the term. The time will be 1a (8:30-9:30) on Friday, beginning on January 8, 2010. The location will be determined later, depending on how many people are interested. In addition to the group session, suggested exercises will be provided for practice between sessions. This will be an informal, not-for-credit workshop and all students, faculty and staff are welcome to attend. You may attend all or some of the sessions as your schedule and your interests dictate.
This seminar will be led by Mark Zach, the Instrument Project Manager in the Department of Physics and Astronomy. Mark has over 17 years experience using CAD tools to design industrial equipment. He has also served as a CAD mentor, CAD administrator and has presented numerous times at regional and national CAD user group meetings. If you are interested or would like more information, contact Mark (mzach) before December 15.
