If I am thinking about majoring in Chemistry, what other courses should I take in my first two years at Carleton?

You need to take Calculus through Calculus III (Mathematics 211) and two 5-week physics courses. For Physics, you must take one five-week Newtonian mechanics course: Physics 131, 132, 141, or 142, and one additional five-week physics courses: 151, 152, 153, 161, or 162. Most students take these two 5-week courses in the same term.

These mathematics and physics courses are prerequisites for our 300-level courses normally taken by juniors: Chemistry 343 and 344 and Chemistry 301 and 302.

Additional details can be found on our Courses and Chemistry Curriculum web pages.
