Carleton CS Alum Wins Best Paper Award
Carleton computer science alum Brad Davis '01 is currently working on his Ph.D. at University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. At the recent IEEE International Conference on Computer Vision, Brad's paper was selected out of 1300 submissions to receive the David Marr Prize for best paper! Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology Summer Institute
The HST Summer Institute at Harvard-MIT offers an opportunity to do summer research in Bioinformatics and Integrative Genomics, and in Biomedical Optics. ACM-W Scholarships for Attendance at Research Conferences
ACM-W has announced a scholarship program to help undergraduate women attend research conferences. The scholarships are for up to $500 each, and approximately 12 are awarded per year. The attendee does not have to be presenting at the

Homeland Security Summer Research
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is accepting applications to participate in a summer research experience at federal research facilities. The DHS HS-STEM Summer Internship Program provides a 10-week summer research experience for undergraduate students majoring in homeland security related science, technology, engineering and mathematics (HS-STEM) disciplines. The idea is for students to learn more about potential job opportunities and to make contacts.
