The Economics Department is sponsoring an afternoon of interview workshops scheduled for Sunday, October 8. Jeff Gunia '98, currently a Marketing Development Analyst at 3M Company, will be on campus to present his workshops on Behavior-based Interviewing and Case-based Interviewing. Carleton's Faculty Affairs Committee (FAC) is investigating a streamlined way of running electronic elections for various committee assignments. In recent years, faculty elections have been managed via surveymonkey.com, which lacks the features required by FAC's new ideas. To make FAC's ideas work, we will need a kind of web-based voting tool that does not appear to be available on-line for a low enough price. If you are interested in helping to develop such a tool and you have completed CS127, please contact Jeff Ondich (jondich@carleton.edu, CMC 327). Though no money is available for this project, you could receive credit for Independent Research (CS 292 or 392).

The Xi Chapter of Sigma Delta Epsilon/Graduate Women in Science is now accepting applications for the Undergraduate Affiliate Research Award. This $250 award is designed to defray expenses associated with conducting an independent research project under the supervision of a faculty member. The deadline is Monday, October 16, 2006.
