Computing Conference for Students
The 39th annual Midwest Instruction and Computing Symposium (MICS) will take place on April 7-8, 2006 at Iowa Wesleyan College. This is a technical computer science conference aimed at students, which gives students an opportunity to present papers and posters about work that they've done. The conference also has a programming contest and a robot contest, so it sounds like lots of fun! Do you have a project that you might consider presenting? Amazon Informal Information
Aaron Mohrman, a recruiter from Amazon.com, will be on campus on Friday, November 11. He would be happy to meet with any seniors or juniors interested in learning more about careers at Amazon.com, and so he will be at the Carleton Career Center from 9-10:30 am. No appointment is necessary, so feel free to walk in on Friday and introduce yourself!

Information Session about Microsoft
Wednesday, October 26, 4-5pm, in CMC 206. Remember computer science major Ben Anderson (class '05)? Ben is now employed with Microsoft and is on the Visual C++ team. Ben will be on campus doing an information session for our majors and potential majors. He'll talk about available internships and full-time jobs, and what sorts of positions are open on the Visual C++ team. He also has offered to forward students' resumes through to Microsoft. Come and hear what Ben has to say! Refreshments will be served.

Monday, October 24, 3-4pm, in CMC 206. Ray Bunkofske (class of '81) from Intel will be on campus and will be doing an information session for our majors (and potential majors). Come and learn more about career opportunities at Intel! The Career Center is cosponsoring this event, and refreshments will be served.
