ICPSR Summer Internship: January 5, 2007

The Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR), the world's largest archive of digital social science data, is now accepting applications for its annual summer internship program for undergraduates that will take place from June 11, 2007 to August 17, 2007.

Summer Interns will work in a UNIX and Windows environment and gain experience using statistical programs such as SAS, SPSS, and Stata to check data. Data processing skills will be applied to prepare social science data for permanent archiving and distribution for secondary analysis; preserving respondent anonymity; and composing descriptions of data collections. To qualify for this opportunity, applicants should have undergraduate standing and completion of sophomore year in a social science major. In addition, strong academic credentials, knowledge of a statistical software package and previous relevant social science research experience via work or class project.

Interested individuals should submit a complete packet of a cover letter, resume, a writing sample, and two letters of recommendation by the application deadline, January 5, 2007.
