Near the end of spring term the English Department hosts a picnic for sophomore, junior, and senior English majors along with faculty members and their families. This year on June 1st the event was rained out or, rather, rained into the Evans Hall dining room. So, instead of lounging on the lawn, we had to sit at tables to eat our burgers while brave volunteers cooked them under unbrellas on the Bell Field grills far below. In spite of the rain, a good time was had by all. As usual the faculty kids stole the show.
