On May 30, at about 5:00 PM, the English Department hosted a picnic for sophomore, junior, and senior English majors along with faculty members and their families. In spite of a threat of a downpour, a large crowd showed up and devoured sandwiches they designed at the deluxe sandwich bar, which also included lots of chips, potato salad, and cookies.  Following the refreshments, the Seniors (and our Junior, Rae) battled The World (everyone else) in a hotly contested softball game.  The World--after being granted an "extension"--carried the day!
