The English Department's most popular social event of the year is the picnic at the end of spring term. This year it was held on Bell Field at the foot of the Evans-Dormitory Hill, on Tuesday, June 3. Almost every senior and junior major, and the newly-declared sophomores, were there, along with faculty, spouses, and kids. The menu included hamburgers, bratwurst, chicken, and veggie burgers, as well as salads, chips, watermelon, and cookies. A softball game followed the feast.
