Both Prof. Tun Myint and Prof. Tuan grew up in Burma (now Myanmar) and experienced the education system there. Dr. Tuan is retired after years of service in the Burmese Ministry of Education, and Prof. Myint is a faculty member in Political Science and ENTS here at Carleton. Prof. Wagenbach is retired from the Carleton Biology Department and he and Dr. Tuan are advising a recently founded bilingual academy that is attempting to provide an affordable modern education for Burmese children. Dr. Tuan is visiting the USA, working with Gary on a curriculum development project. Come and meet Dr. Tuan, and learn a little about how education is structured in this very isolated country.
