Landscape Architecture

Landscape architects design outdoor and public spaces to achieve environmental, socio-behavioral, and aesthetic outcomes.  It involves the systematic investigation of existing social, ecological, and geological conditions and processes in the landscape, and the design of interventions that will produce the desired outcome.  Landscape architects may engage in urban planning, environmental restoration, parks and recreational planning, green infrastructure, and related activities.

Landscape architecture programs typically offer a master’s degree, which can be earned in 2-3 years.  Some also offer a PhD.
