Graduate School Information
Since environmental studies is such a truly interdisciplinary field of study, there are almost limitless options for students who want to continue studying environmental issues in graduate school. If you know the areas that interest you the most, ask for advice from faculty on programs that may be a good fit for you. Many faculty have a good working knowledge of graduate programs, especially in their individual fields. If you would like to continue approaching environmental studies from a broad standpoint with no focus on any field in particular, then perhaps an interdisciplinary environmental graduate program is best for you. Here are some such programs:
Arizona State University School of Sustainability
Bard College Center for Environmental Policy
Columbia University Environmental MPA program
Duke University Nicholas School of Environment and Earth Sciences
Johns Hopkins Environmental Sciences and Policy program
University of California-Berkeley Department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management
University of California-Santa Barbara Donald Bren School of Environmental Science & Management
University of Colorado-Boulder Environmental Studies Program
University of Michigan-Ann Arbor School of Natural Resources and Environment
University of Wisconsin-Madison Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies
