Calculate your own ecological footprint!


Use this spreadsheet to keep track of your consumption over the course of a month. How do you compare to the 1.5-2.2 hectare ideal? Are you using more than your fair share of land? Are you an eco-hog?

In general, a vegan diet uses the least amount of land. Meat and dairy products use the most land in terms of number of calories yielded per hectare. Cars are often responsible for greatly inflated footprints. Recycling more and wasting less food will reduce your ecological footprint. Reduce, reuse and recycle!
