Shantrice King '13 Earns Fulbright Fellowship for Project in France
April 30, 2013Women's and Gender Studies major Shantrice King obtained a Fulbright fellowship to travel to Paris, France where she will study the influence of the French sex education curriculum on the current and future reproductive choices of young, first-generation Muslim women of Malian descent living in Paris.
French Concentrator Claire McGillem '13, French T.A. Scott Graber '13, and Sarah Price '13 Selected for Teaching Assistant Program in France
April 24, 2013Claire McGillem (Political Science/IR major, French & Francophone Studies concentrator), French T.A. Scott Graber (Linguistics major, Cognitive Science concentrator), and Sarah Price (English major) were recently selected to participate in the 2013-14 Teaching Assistant Program in France (TAPIF). Claire will teach English at the primary level in the Aix-Marseille region. Scott and Sarah will work at the secondary level, in the Nantes and in the Grenoble areas, respectively.

French Major Molly Rapaport '13 Wins Fulbright Fellowship to Travel to Burkina Faso
April 23, 2013French major Molly Rapaport '13 received a Fulbright fellowship to travel to Burkina Faso in order to research the effects of polygamy on female economic autonomy. She will mostly be in the south working with Burkina's largest shea butter collective, Fédération Nununa.
Senior Lecturer in French Christine Lac to be President-Elect of AATF-Minnesota
April 22, 2013Christine Lac, Senior Lecturer in French, was elected Second Vice-President (President-elect) of the American Association of Teachers of French-Minnesota at the annual meeting on April 17. The association serves educators in French in grades K through 16.
Carleton Students Volunteer in French Schools
September 5, 2012Carleton students on the spring Paris program spent one or two mornings per week volunteering in low income schools just outside Paris (an elementary school and a high school).
