• Discuss comps proposals
• Choose a Comps Adviser
• Talk to your adviser about budget

September/October – Comps Proposal due

• Due the end of second week fall term

October – Junior Comps Meeting

• Shortly after the fall departmental field trip

January – Senior Seminar Meetings (2)

• 1^st meeting – give 3 minute talk about what comps is about
• 2^nd meeting – guidelines for writing a long/comps paper

March – Papers due in pdf format

• Last day of winter term classes by 5:00 pm in pdf format (see Written Report)
• (Papers that miss this deadline cannot be considered for distinction)

March – Senior Seminar Meeting

• ·Comps Talk

March thru May – Comps talks

• Poster display one week before talk
• Final copies of papers due (see Presentation)

April – Comps Cleaning

• Clean out rock samples, lab glassware etc. from your comps work areas
• Talk to your adviser about what materials to leave with the department
