Harvard Graduate School of Education
University of Illinois, Chicago. Offers a number of competitive History Doctoral Awards that provide $16,500 stipend as a teaching assistant per academic year, plus tuition-and-service-fee waiver, for four years. Also other kinds of financial support, both within the department and from the university.
Midwestern State University, Wichita Falls, Texas. For the 2009-10 academic year several graduate assistantships for qualifying students seeking the MA degree in History. Total compensation for each one is $8,500 for nine-month academic year. Non-Texas residents will be recommended for in-state tuition. For more information, see http://www.mwsu.edu
SUNY, Binghamton, teaching assistantships include tuition waivers, stipends ranging from $10,000 to $12,500/year and excellent medical insurance. Clifford Clark Under-represented Minority Fellowships are also available.
